In the Chicago-land area, the number of veterinary hospitals is astounding. How to choose? Of course, you want the best care possible, not only for your pet, but yourself as well. While there are many qualified veterinarians in the region who would make good choices, please allow us to describe how we are different from the multitudes.

If your regular veterinarian referred you to Dr. Johnson for his expertise as a veterinary internist (Dip. ACVIM), please ensure you have the necessary medical records and materials. When you call for your appointment, we will give you the necessary information to prepare for your pet's appointment and what records, bloodwork, or radiographs we may need from your regular vet.
The heart of any hospital revolves around its doctors. Nearly all veterinary practices in Cook county have
three to six doctors. In contrast, we have only one: Dr. Johnson. How can this
be beneficial to you and your pet? Most animal hospitals do not guarantee that your pet will see the same doctor
every visit. With North Shore Veterinary Clinic, your pet will see Dr. Johnson each time. We feel this
leads to much greater familiarity with your pet's medical history and condition and more meaningful
long-term interaction with you than other veterinary hospitals can provide.
We believe that knowledge and medical expertise is of paramount importance in a veterinarian, and in that few others can compare with Dr. Johnson. He has more than 30 years of experience in private practice. Beyond that of a regular practitioner, he also has more than 20 years experience as a veterinary internist (Dip. ACVIM) and as a canine & feline specialist (Dip. ABVP). If you search, you will find it is a rare opportunity to have a double diplomated specialist as your pet's veterinarian, especially one of Dr. Johnson's capacity.
The other quality of equal importance is the veterinarian's "bedside manner." Again, we believe that having a single doctor means that the two of you will have a greater camaraderie than seeing a different veterinarian every time your pet visits the animal hospital. Of course, we know Dr. Johnson has a spetacular "bedside manner," but rather than take us at our word, we invite you to stop by and simply ask the opinion of any of our clients.
Regarding the services we offer, North Shore Veterinary Clinic is a complete care animal hospital. We provide the full range of veterinary services from preventive health care and new puppy & kitten programs to surgery and diagnostic imaging.
