The Pet Gallery

Welcome to our Pet Gallery. Get to know our friendly, fun, fantastic, furry friends. We'd love to add your fuzzy family member to our mix. Please e-mail a photo or three to djohnmedcomp@yahoo.com and put "Pet Gallery" in the subject. Include your pet's name and a little note about how your pet received it or simply just a cute story. Who knows, your little (or not so little) one may even become a professor and "teach" a subject in our library!
Meet Labben, a large furry and fluffy
samoyed. He's a big white mountain of a dog. It's extremely easy to
become lost in his fur, trust us. We had to send in a search and rescue
party after the last technician who worked with him. (Just kidding!)
Labben has a very unique name, its Norwegian for "paw." You see, as
a puppy, he always put one foot under any closed door and all anyone
could see was this white furry paw sticking out.
Meet Casey. His formal name is “Malca’s
Paso Doble Casey”. He received that name because when his owners walked
their golden retriever (Max) with him, Casey had to take two steps to
each of Max's one. (Paso Doble is a Spanish two-step dance.) Casey has
been performing a slower two-step lately due to arthritis, however his
heart is still willing. (Especially when a squirrel invades his yard!)
Casey graciously shares his home with Daisy.
Say hello to Daisy, she's just a
little shy. She came to her current home when three grand children under the
age of three competed for her mother's attention. Now, how could anyone
not give Daisy her due attention. After all, one does
not ignore a princess. Daisy quickly had to learn how to avoid the king
of the house, Casey. Now Casey tolerates her and even seems to look
out for her.
This cute beagle is known to his
friends as Darwin. His owner studied biology in college and came across
this trivial fact. A famous scientist you may have heard of, Charles
Darwin, sailed to the Galapagos Islands aboard the H.M.S. Beagle. You
see? Now this Darwin just has the gargantuan task of living up to his
intellectual namesake.
Have you ever seen those old Bugs
Bunny cartoons with the Abominable Snowman who wants his own pet? ("I'm
gonna hug him and pet him and call him George," says the Snowman.)
This huggable, petable dog isn't the Abominable Snowman, but he's almost
as big and just as sweet and he is named George! He's just hanging out
in the snow here, but don't worry, with his 50 lbs of hair and warm
heart, he won't ever be cold.
It's a lucky thing this little puppy was born a girl. Otherwise, as a boy
"his" name would have been "Corky, The Dorky Yorkie!" Isabella loves everybody
and everything. She made friends at the drop of a hat in our offices. She has
quickly converted everyone in her family to become "Yorkaphiles." (That's supposed
to mean someone who loves Yorkies.) But she's not a complete angel, she "mauls
the cat at home." (Luckily, the cat doesn't seem to mind.)
This is Bubba. You never thought you would meet a dog with a name like
that, did you? Someone with a name like that sounds like a big rough and
tough character. But as you can see, that's simply not the case here.
When his family first saw him, someone thought he looked like he belonged
in a Ford pickup and chose a name to fit.
Around the house, he's just a black and white blur, scurrying from mischief
in one place to another.
This little papillon puppy is a wonderfully playful guy. Before he entered
his new family's life, they had another papillon named Peter, or "Pete" for
short. Now things begin to get creative. In honor of Peter, and since this is
a puppy of the same breed, "Repete" became this puppy's monicure.
This large Bouvier puppy blends in with the night. But she won't spook
anyone, she's too innocent for that. She does, however, have a wide range
of non-traditional canine hobbies, most notably gardening. She never seems
to be satisfied with her owner's arrangement of plants, so she takes it upon
herself to rearrange them at her whim. (We think her garden plans may
closely resemble the swirl of letters next to her here.)
She has also competed in several dog shows and done very well.
Behold! Zeus! The Greek god of Thunder!
Don't worry, everyone can relax. We have it on good authority that this Zeus doesn't want to hurl thunderbolts. (He's too sweet for that.) Instead, he would rather curl up in bed for a warm cozy nights sleep. (Rumor has it that he hogs the bed!)
